Frank Curran is a Painter and Printmaker. Painted works are primarily oil on canvas or panel. The body of printed works is more diverse but generally limited to intaglio prints (etching, aquatint, drypoint etc.) and Relief or Letterpress (woodcut, wood engraving, handset type and letterpress variants.) The artist uses both printmaking and painting to record simple observations as well as to embark on more complex artistic and aesthetic investigations. Mr. Curran enjoys the challenges offered by both painting and printmaking. Producing art using age-old craft techniques and equipment from another age is especially gratifying to the artist.
